Tips for Festivals

(0)

Headed to your first festival this summer? You are no doubt full of excitement and anticipation. However, you may have a few questions as to how to be prepared. We got you covered with the best tips for your first music festival.

Stay Hydrated!

Whether or not it’s hot where you live staying hydrating is by far one of the most important things to remember when at a festival. When there is lots of dancing and drinking it is key to stay hydrated!

Wear the Right Clothing

Depending on where you’re headed this summer for your festival the weather will vary. Even so it’s always good to wear something breathable and comfortable! Last thing you want is to be uncomfortable while you’re dancing along to your favourite singers. If the weather is hot, bring a hat or sunglasses to protect you from the heat of the summer! Getting burned is a huge no and you’ll regret it for the next week. Just like your mom would tell you growing up, put on sunscreen! You will thank me later. If your festival trip is destined to be rainy a poncho or rain coat is the way to go. You will be on your feet a lot, so comfy shoes are a huge must as well. Style aside make sure your feet are well supported and protected. Pick you most worn in sneakers or booties, trust me they will get muddy.

Plan Ahead

Large festivals have a collection of different stages and a large variety of arenas, having a plan of which music artist you want to see and what time they are playing is essential, make sure you don’t miss any of your top artists. You will probably be broadcasting your festival experience all across the social media, if you’re one to be snapping tons of pictures and posting tons of tweets you need a portable charger. These babies are game changers, no outlet needed and no panicking when you are down to 1%. Thanks to this you can be snap chatting and posting Instagram pictures all night long.

Don’t Over Pack

One of the best tips is to not over pack. Don’t bring unnecessary items that you’ll have to lug around with you. Bring your most essential items and keep that bag lightweight! The last thing you want is to be weighed down by a bag when you’re in the midst of a mosh pit. Make sure you keep your personal items close by and protected. It is easy to lose or get something stolen in those large crowds. A backpack or fanny pack is the perfect way to keep your items confined and close by. Stores like Forever 21 and H&M offer the cutest trends for your summer festivities.

Have a Meeting Point

If you’re with a group of friends is always good to have a meeting place, in case you get separated or someone gets left behind. Having a designated spot can be super helpful in case of an emergency. It never hurts to be prepared and safe.

When you head out for your summer festivals stay hydrated, protect yourself and your belongings, but most importantly have fun! Enjoy the moment and sing your heart out to all your favourite songs.
